Longevity Headlines
GlycanAge is on the Ambrosia Path
Are you younger than you think you are?
Well this company is working on a finger-prick blood test to tell you!
Introducing GlycanAge!
Weβve got an exciting interview lined up for you with their team. Letβs dive straight in β¬οΈ
Ambrosia: #1 β What's your company's elevator pitch?
GlycanAge: We are an at home, finger prick blood test that looks at oneβs biological age via the levels of chronic inflammation in the body.
We do this via the Glycans on Immunoglobulin G, as their structures and ratios tell a story about how old someone is on the inside.
Ambrosia: #2 β How does GlycanAge fit into the longevity industry?
GlycanAge: With our esteemed 30 years of research and scientific backing, and over 200,000 strong baseline we use to produce our results, we are unique, no one else utilizes the power of glycans due to their complexity. We serve to be a tried and trusted way of assessing biological age that is actively responsive to making lifestyle changes!
Ambrosia: #3 β What's a 'biological age'? How does one determine it and how does it differ from regular age?
GlycanAge: In our definition of the term, we look at the levels of low grade chronic inflammation in the body and compare it to a baseline of individuals we have studied over multiple decades of research. We know what a typical 30, 45, 57 year old's Glycan profile looks like, and so if you are 45, but on the inside look 37, we can accurately say you are biologically 8 years younger than you are chronologically.
Ambrosia: #4 β What traction and progress have you had so far?
GlycanAge: We have grown quite quickly to be a worldwide international force, we work with many partners worldwide but majorly in the US, EU and UK, with an emerging expansion into various parts of Asia recently. We still find ourselves spreading the word and raising awareness when it comes to Glycans, other biological age clocks might use or analyze parts of the body people might be more familiar, but overall we are very much on the up!
Ambrosia: #5 β Who is on the team and what are their backgrounds?
GlycanAge: Our team is also a worldwide effort, consisting of our scientific and business inceptors Nikolina Lauc (CEO) and Gordon Lauc (CSO) in Croatia, where our laboratory resides, we have Zorrie Dimitrova (COO) based just outside of London and Martin Iliev (CFO) and Vladi Mihaylova (CMO) based in Bulgaria. We have business development in Dubai and the UAE. Our head office is in Newcastle Upon Tyne in the UK.
Ambrosia: #6 β Do you have any predictions about the longevity industry in coming years?
GlycanAge: It will continue to grow that is for sure, preventative healthcare is most certainly gaining significant traction and whilst at the moment many products and services seem locked behind walls inaccessible to those who don't have the disposable income, time and growth will bring more availability to all and at the heart of many of the practices most can be done for free (think cold water therapy, grounding, meditation techniques), so it's just a case of getting the word out!
Ambrosia: #7 β Any exciting news or plans coming up?
GlycanAge: We are planning to attend some of the larger biohacking, longevity and functional medicine based events and roadshows this year to show our faces and host some talks. We are always developing and improving our products like our new beta report or new personal dashboard for our customers. It's always exciting at GlycanAge!
Ambrosia: #8 β How can our readers keep up to date with your progress?
GlycanAge: You can follow us on Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. We have our GlycanAge self care blog and you can always sign up to our newsletter. We put a lot of work into our socials and keeping our audience informed and I really think it shows!
